Hi Reader! Last week on the blog, I spent some time chatting about plants, particularly how to move them. And since my solution is usually not to move them, I get lots and lots of opportunities to try new plants each time we settle into a new place. In recent years, I've found myself buying the same few plants over and over because they are the perfect combination of 1) easy to care for, and 2) they look really good! Read on to see the three plants I always have in my home! Pathos. Pathos plants are one of the easiest and most gratifying plants you can have in your home, regardless of how green (or not!) your thumb is! Not only do they come in lots of different varieties, but they literally show you when they need water (via drooping leaves!) These plants grow large and full, making them lovely decor statements; and they can easily be propagated to make even more plants from your single investment! Snake Plant. This is another plant that is super easy to care for and gives you a lot of visual "bang for your buck." They don't require a lot of water or a lot of sunlight, allowing you to put them (almost) anywhere in your home. And since they come in a range of sizes, you can easily find one for any pot you have (even really big ones, which are my favorite!) Fiddle Leaf Fig. I know, I know. These get a bad rap for being difficult to care for...and they can be because they are pretty particular about their environment, But! Once you DO find the right spot, they grow (and grow BIG!) with very little attention or effort. And boy, they really do bring instant style to any room! TIP! Do you get overwhelmed in the plant aisle trying to figure out which plant is what? Me too! I've actually had really good luck ordering plants from Costa Farms on Amazon (yes, Amazon!) Not only are they delivered right to my doorstep, but I know exactly what I'm getting! Last Week On the BlogHere's what you may have missed last week on the blog! Have a great rest of the week, and I hope to see you on the blog soon! ~MeganWant to stay on my mailing list but no longer want to receive The Sunday Short Newsletter? Just click HERE!

2 minute read Hi Reader! We’re used to dealing with some pretty frustrating situations in our rental homes. Ugly carpeting. Bad wall colors. Dated tile. You name it, we’ve had it! Our current home has another nuisance feature: a nook. An awkward, horribly-placed, practically-useless nook. I was determined to make this spot look and function just right for this room, so we ultimately decided to add some floating shelves. And whoa...this awkward spot immediately went from exasperating headache...

4 minute read Hi Reader! Years ago, I remember sharing a room reveal and one of the first comments I received was along the lines of: “The room reveal is great, but where are you storing your kids’ shoes and backpacks?” I was a bit flabbergasted that THAT was the question after sharing so many creative solutions in the post. But all these years later, that comment has stuck with me because it hits on what we all really want to know: How do you store all the “nuisance but necessary” items of...
