Hi Reader! We're just over two weeks into 2025, so it's time for me to ask: How are you doing on your New Year's Resolution(s)? I know, I know. There is nothing "magical" about January 1st. But so many of us (myself included!) see the New Year as a fresh start and the perfect time to make some positive, meaningful changes in our lives, homes, bodies, minds, relationships, etc. That said, you probably already know that just saying something is going to happen doesn't necessarily mean it will. Most of us need some sort of plan, system, hack, or checklist in order to make true, real meaningful progress on any new life habits we want to incorporate. Again...myself included! After almost a year of feeling hazy, unmotivated, and directionless, I came roaring into 2025 with LOTS of ways I want to improve various aspects of my life. And so far...I'm doing pretty good thanks to some simple strategies that are keeping me on track! Strategy 1 - Write It DownNot rocket science, right? But writing down your new goals/habits helps keep them front and center in your busy day. While I've been known to invest (both my money and my time) into fancy goal planners in the past, lately I've been loving a simple little checklist taped inside my planner. No fuss and minimal time commitment. Each day, I (quickly!) check in to see if I'm still doing (aaaalll) the things I want to be doing this year. For me at least...nothing is more motivating than NOT getting to check off a check box! Don't have a habit tracker you love? I'm sharing my printable version with you HERE!) Strategy 2 - Habit StackingThis one is my favorite lately. If there is something new you are trying to incorporate (e.g., take a daily vitamin, go for a walk, read your Bible passage, etc), do it in conjunction with something you are already in the habit of doing. Really good at filling your water bottle every morning? Take your vitamin right after you do it. Really good at making your bed? Use that as your cue to head out on your walk. Really good at doing some morning meditation? Add on a few minutes to read your Bible in the same sitting. Strategy 3 - Date AssociationWhen I am trying to incorporate a new habit that needs to happen monthly (or bi-monthly), I love assigning it to a certain date of the month...usually the 1st, 15th, or 30th/31st (but you can pick any date that makes sense to you!) When I see these dates pop up on my planner, on the news, on my phone, etc, it's my reminder to do those sporadic tasks (that I usually otherwise forget to do!) Strategy 4 - Incorporate Digital RemindersLast but not least, our digital tools can be just that...tools! These days, you can utilize so many different apps, trackers, timers, and alarms to remind you of your new goals (and precisely when to do them). The key here is NOT ignoring the alarms when they go off! Hi Reader! Last week on the blog, I spent some time chatting about plants, particularly how to move them. And since my solution is usually not to move them, I get lots and lots of opportunities to try new plants each time we settle into a new place. In recent years, I've found myself buying the same few plants over and over because they are the perfect combination of 1) easy to care for, and 2) they look really good! Read on to see the three plants I always have in my home! Pathos. Pathos...

Hi Reader! Last week, over on the blog, I (finally) detailed the very painful process of removing the peel and stick tile from our rental kitchen. And there was one tool that was essential to getting the project done. Read on to see why my hair dryer (!!!) is one of the most-used items in my "rental decor toolbox." As a renter, I rely a lot on peel-and-stick products. From adhesive wallpaper on our walls, Command Strips on our frames, stick-on shower caddies, and more...sometimes you just...
